These are broad market ranges to help you plan, not quotes. Every project is different, and the only accurate number comes from a walkthrough of your space.
How it works
From first call to final walkthrough.
01 Free consultation
We visit your home, learn your goals and budget, and give you an honest read on scope and a realistic planning range.
02 Design
We design the space and prepare the drawings for permitting. You approve the plan and a fixed price before any work begins.
03 Permitting
We file and manage every approval. For Maryland projects that runs through Montgomery County's Department of Permitting Services (DPS); in DC and Northern Virginia we handle the local permitting office.
04 Build
One crew and one dedicated project manager take the job from demolition through finish work, keeping it on schedule and on budget.
05 Warranty
Every project is backed by a warranty on labor and materials, and we are here well after the final walkthrough.
Local proof

Our Maryland design advantage: In Maryland we handle design in-house, so drawings, permits, and construction all stay under one roof and one contract. In Virginia and DC we work with a licensed architect partner for the design drawings, then manage the permitting and construction the same way.

After a flood hit my home, Excell took all the pressure off, drywall, flooring, painting, plumbing, electrical. My home looks better than it did before the flood.

FAQ
Questions homeowners ask us.
How long does a bathroom remodel take?
A typical bathroom remodel runs about 3 to 5 weeks of construction. A small powder room can be faster, and a large primary bath with layout changes or a custom wet room takes longer. Design and permitting come first.
Do I need a permit to remodel a bathroom in Montgomery County?
Usually, if the work moves plumbing, electrical, or walls, Montgomery County requires a permit through the Department of Permitting Services (DPS). A like-for-like fixture swap often does not. We handle the permitting either way.
Can you convert my tub to a walk-in shower?
Yes. Tub-to-shower conversions are one of the most common bathroom projects we do, including curbless and walk-in showers with frameless glass. We waterproof to code and can add niches, benches, and a linear drain.
Can we use the bathroom during the remodel?
The bathroom being remodeled is out of service during construction, but if you have another bathroom you can stay in the house. We seal off the work area to control dust and keep the rest of your home clean.
How much does a bathroom remodel cost?
It varies widely with the size of the room, the fixtures, and how much plumbing and layout changes, from a straightforward guest bath to a spa-worthy primary suite. Rather than a generic per-foot number, we give you a clear, itemized range at the walkthrough.
Do you handle the design?
Yes. In Maryland our in-house designer prepares and submits the drawings, so design, permits, and construction stay under one contract. In Virginia and DC we work with a licensed architect partner for the drawings and manage the rest the same way.
How do you prevent mold and water damage?
Proper waterproofing behind the tile, correct slope to the drain, and good exhaust ventilation are what keep a bathroom dry for the long run, and we build every bath to that standard.
