What it costs

Planning your budget

A full kitchen remodel in the DC metro generally runs from the mid five figures for a mid-range project into six figures for a high-end, layout-changing build. Where you land depends on cabinetry, countertops, appliances, and how much of the layout and plumbing changes.

These are broad market ranges to help you plan, not quotes. Every project is different, and the only accurate number comes from a walkthrough of your space.

How it works

From first call to final walkthrough.

01 Free consultation

We visit your home, learn your goals and budget, and give you an honest read on scope and a realistic planning range.

02 Design

We design the space and prepare the drawings for permitting. You approve the plan and a fixed price before any work begins.

03 Permitting

We file and manage every approval. For Maryland projects that runs through Montgomery County's Department of Permitting Services (DPS); in DC and Northern Virginia we handle the local permitting office.

04 Build

One crew and one dedicated project manager take the job from demolition through finish work, keeping it on schedule and on budget.

05 Warranty

Every project is backed by a warranty on labor and materials, and we are here well after the final walkthrough.

Our Maryland design advantage: In Maryland we handle design in-house, so drawings, permits, and construction all stay under one roof and one contract. In Virginia and DC we work with a licensed architect partner for the design drawings, then manage the permitting and construction the same way.

FAQ

Questions homeowners ask us.

How long does a kitchen remodel take?

Most kitchen remodels run about 8 to 12 weeks of construction, with a minor refresh closer to 4 to 6 weeks and a major, layout-changing remodel 12 weeks or more. Design and permitting happen before that, so plan for a few months start to finish.

Do I need a permit to remodel a kitchen in Montgomery County?

Usually yes. Montgomery County requires permits, pulled through the Department of Permitting Services (DPS), whenever a remodel involves electrical, plumbing, or structural work. A like-for-like cosmetic refresh often does not. We handle the permitting either way.

Can we stay in the house during the kitchen remodel?

Most homeowners do. The kitchen itself is out of service during construction, so we help you set up a temporary kitchen and we seal off the work area to keep dust down. We walk you through what to expect week by week.

How much does a kitchen remodel cost?

In the DC metro, a full mid-range kitchen remodel typically runs between about $55,000 and $95,000, with minor refreshes lower and high-end, layout-changing builds higher. These are planning ranges, not quotes, and our kitchen cost guide breaks it down by scope.

Do you handle the design?

Yes. In Maryland our in-house designer prepares and submits the drawings, so design, permits, and construction stay under one contract. In Virginia and DC we work with a licensed architect partner for the drawings and manage the rest the same way.

Can you open up my kitchen to the living area?

Often, yes. Removing a wall to open a kitchen to the dining or living space is one of the most common projects we do. If the wall is load-bearing we engineer a beam to carry the load, which we scope and price upfront.

Do you work outside Montgomery County?

Yes. We are headquartered in Gaithersburg and do much of our work across Montgomery County, but we remodel kitchens throughout the DC metro, including Washington DC and Northern Virginia.
